Coolout 19 Captures 30 years of Seattle Hip Hop

Last Saturday night at the Crocodile, Georgio Brown’s Coolout TV celebrated its 19th birthday. Brown showcased 30 years of Seattle Hip Hop and introduced many people to some serious family lineage that started this sh#t in the 206. Performers ranged from early era Nasty Mix artists Xola (Kid Sensation) and Wojack (of Criminal Nation) to today’s rising stars J.Pinder and and Khingz. However my favorite part was watching D.Black watch his dad, Captain Crunch (James Croone) of The Emerald Street Boys perform for the first time. The Emerald Street Boys ignited the torch that that still burns today and it was great top see them bring it to stage after all of these years. ESB’s family lineage also runs deep, between the three members, they have family ties to D.Black, Vitamin D, Ish of Shabazz Palaces, RC tha Trackahliq, and so on and so on.
